The Role of Opposition vs. Anarchy |
As the NDA-2 the government came to power in May 2019, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, since then the relationship of the ruling party and the Opposition going far beyond the political opposition required in democracy. In plain words, political opposition has turned into hatred.
By the way, it started a year
or two before this. When the then Congress President Rahul Gandhi used to raise
slogans of "Chowkidar Chor Hai" day and night. Not only Rahul Gandhi
but many senior Congress leaders have also called Narendra Modi "Neech" and "Mout Ka Soudhagar".
Never before has such personal bitterness been seen in Indian democratic
history.
Presently, after the passing
of the "Citizenship Amendment Bill", the double character of the
opposition has come before the country. The ideology and parties which the
people of India rejected in the election. They started seeing their future in the
riots in the name of "Citizenship Amendment Bill". Is opposition just
to spread chaos? While everyone knows that the "Citizenship Amendment
Bill" is for grant citizenship, not to take away
citizenship. The bill is only meant to grant citizenship in India to the minority Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and
Christian came years back from Islamic countries like
Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Leaders of
the opposition are calling this bill "against the soul of the
constitution" and "against secularism". But they should have so
much intelligence that if the majority Muslims of Pakistan
and Bangladesh was to take it to India then why were they
partitioned the country.
The country's Muslims were misguided by the opposition in the name of National
Register for Citizenship (NRC). Later Prime Minister Narendra Modi said
that it has not been considered in the Cabinet yet. Only citizenship will be
identified in the National Register for Citizenship (NRC). The
government of every country have the right to prepare any
correct data of its citizens and know how many people are intruders in the country. This shows that the
opposition stands with the intruders.
Even before this, during passing "Article 370", and "triple talaq bill”, the Congress
party is only pretending to be friendly to Muslims. After opposition to the
"Citizenship Amendment Bill" and "National
Register for Citizenship (NRC)", the Congress has started provoking
people on the bill updating the "National Population Register (NPR)". Whereas it is a census-related process done every ten years.
A political ideology which is
embellished by many names like Marxist, Communist, Naxalite or Urban-Naxalite is over in the world. In India, some
remnants of it are found in the far corners of the country. This political
ideology is still counting its last breath of ideology in Jawaharlal
Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi. Any
protest in the country starts from here. A handful of students descend on the
streets carrying banners, placards. The next day there are
protests in Hyderabad University,
Jadavpur University and Aligarh Muslim University. After
that, the Congress party wakes up and takes full responsibility of further
anarchy on its shoulders.
Demonstrating protest in front
of Indian embassies abroad by the Congress Party's foreign wing
in the name of "Citizenship Amendment Bill" is tarnishing the image
of the opposition, the country and its own party.
Seeing the possibility of a conspiracy by the opposition in every decision or action of the government is a
dangerous situation for a healthy democracy. After the Pulwama incident, it can
not be prudent to become a puppet in the hands of Pakistan and questioning
the "surgical strike" in Pakistan by Indian forces. Some
opposition parties had also expressed doubts about the government's
involvement in the terrorist attack on security forces in Pulwama. What could
be more embarrassing for the opposition?
Whenever a law is passed in
both houses of Parliament then it is the constitutional
responsibility of the state governments to implement it in the states. But just
to create confusion in the country, some Non-BJP
governments declare for not implementing the
"Citizenship Amendment Bill" in their respective state. Even before
this, the West Bengal government and Andhra Pradesh government banning the
Central Bureau of Investigation "CBI" from entering and investigating
in their state, what else would be called anarchy? Later these parties will be
seen doing "Save Constitution Rally". This brings out the double
character of these parties and the public stops taking these parties seriously.
In a democracy, the people of
the country does the work of putting any person or party on the throne of power.
If Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in power, then the people of the country
have chosen him. He should be allowed to work for the next
five years. If an issue comes up, then the opposition also
has the right to protest. But spreading chaos in the name of "Right to protest" is not the right tradition.
